Hey guys!
I've been keeping up with what I said and for the most part played some games pretty frequently.
Sadly my MMR is so low that I'm getting placed against high level silver players :/
but never the less I feel like I'm making some progress!
for those of you who don't know MMR is the match making algorithm that the computer uses to place you against players around your level. From what I know it is highly unstable the more matches you win. Meaning, it doesn't really know where to place you...
So I guess this is good news? ha ha
for the most part I've been working on my mechanics, I'm trying to not let my chronoboost get too high (use it as soon as I can) and constantly make probes.
From what I've seen there are really 3 time periods you should expo (make expansions) at the 7:00, then 11 or 12 min mark. This of course relies on if you feel safe doing so, I've been rushed so many times trying to take an expansion that its just aggravates me.
Let me explain this last part more clearly, in Starcraft 2 resources that you use to make units/ buildings are limited. You have to eventually make new bases and mine them in order to fuel your war. a lot of times lesser players or players or want to end the game quickly do what they can to mass units up quickly and rush over to destroy your base.
If the attack fails, their pretty much screwed the rest of the game, if it works obviously they'll win the game. It's been really hard for me to be a good sport about this because I feel like it takes no skill and shows that the people doing this is a lesser player....
although I guess if I was a better player I would be able to scout around and tell that something like this is heading my way.
Just something else to keep in mind as I play, alright take care guys takes for reading!

Hey guys!
I know I haven't been too faithful to this, but I'm making sure that I allot some time every other day for a post.
So big news Stephano won the IPL3! Huge upset because everyone expected the Korean players to take the tourney. mainly just because they are notoriously good players.
For those of yous who don't know what that its a tournament that was was hosted at Caesars Atlantic City, USA. The total prize pool was worth $100,000 with the following break down.
1st place: $30,000
2nd place: $12,000
3rd place: 8,000
4th place: 6,000
5th-8th place: $3,000
9th-16th place: $2,000
17th-32nd place: $1,000
a lot of high level players were invited and as you can see high finishers left with some amount of prize money.
Watching a few of the games motivated me to start playing again and I'm happy to say that I made myself play 5 games today. even though I went 1-4 and I'm still motivated to keep on going and trying to improve.
I decided that I'm going to make myself play 5 games each day. [rather than win 5]
and make myself improve and focus on mechanics more than anything else.
what I mean by mechanics is constantly scouting, making probes, spending money, building units.
all together and keeping a cool head while doing it.
It's natural to get upset and want to let someone have it when they won doing stupid things (got cannon rushed twice - _ -)
but when I really thought about it I should have scouted him and followed his probe, looking out for proxy pylons.
I'm not going to let it get to me and just chalk it up as something to improve on!
thanks for reading guys. I'll try to cover events in more depth and details, still trying to figure out what voice to take when writing this ha ha.
if you guys want more info about the IPL go to their main site! IPL3
